The DoE is nothing more than a shit jobs program and has been for decades.

The Department of Education, A) did not invent the US public school system, and B) does not have a significant amount of influence at a state level when it comes to the quality of education. If they did there wouldn't be such wild disparities in the quality of school systems depending on the state. Liberal areas tend to have better education systems than conservative areas, even in red states. This isn't an opinion, it's a measurable fact.

Pearson & McGraw Hill are more responsible for the state of public schools than any government agency.

No, I don't agree that states handle education better. I think some states handle education better than others which handle it like retards.

This has everything to do with local and state level conservative governments that have been purposefully cutting education budgets, neutering curriculum, and strategically dumbing down their people. Because they know that conservatives only do well with the stupid or the rich and it's much easier and more profitable to make someone stupid than it is to make them rich.

But this has deviated a ton from what I originally brought up. The Department of Education has very little to do with the issue I was highlighting.

America is declining because Americans, as a whole, are too stupid to properly disseminate information at the pace it is received in the digital age and I'm sick of pretending that isn't the problem.

A) I don't know who you're referring to.

B) This isn't nearly as large of a problem in most other countries. Technology will keep improving, but to be honest that is irrelevant. Anyone with sufficient critical thinking skills will be able to tell the truth from the propaganda, because most propaganda is lazy and easily refuted if you know how to think.

C) I'm not advocating for the government to tell you what to believe, I'm advocating for the return of education based on critical thinking and the fostering of intellectual curiosity.
