Bottom post of the previous page:

The Department Of Government Efficiency or DOGE(soy) living up to it's name with two people doing one job.

Ain't even sworn in yet and he's making the government bigger and more nepotistic.

Feels good being anti establishment again.

Building on Outtie's argument that I'm too stupid to discern fact from fiction (joking sort of); I read articles that Agentina is much better off now and the next article claims things are worse.

I just heard Kyle Kulinski yesterday mentioning that Argentina is at 52% living in poverty.

I haven't bothered to see for myself.

Doubt it goes well down there.

Putting a libertarian in charge of government is oxymoronic on principle. It's like putting Vince McMahon on the Olympic committee.

And yet....
In 2024, Argentina's poverty rate has increased dramatically, with more than half of the country's population living in poverty:

Poverty rate
In the first six months of 2024, the poverty rate in Argentina was 52.9%, up from 41.7% in the second half of 2023. This is the highest poverty rate since 2003.

Extreme poverty
The number of people living in extreme poverty increased by 3 million in the first half of 2024.
Destitution
18.1% of the population was considered destitute, meaning they were unable to afford even a minimal amount of food.
Economic crisis
The country has fallen into a recession due to a decline in consumer spending.
Inflation
Argentina's inflation rate is one of the highest in the world, exceeding 230% annually.
Austerity measures
President Javier Milei has implemented austerity measures, including cutting subsidies for energy, fuel, and transportation, and firing thousands of civil servants.

The World Bank says that Argentina has good programs and allocates significant resources to fighting poverty, but the country has not been able to reduce poverty below 25% in the last 40 years.

Anyway, a government restricted to only defense and the protection of property rights is nothing more than muscle for property owners.
