I don't see it that way. Particularly when you look at the present battle lines.
Putin has been hinting at peace talks but insists on not losing any newly occupied territory and I'm thinking he'll move off that position if Biden is re-elected. I think the goal here should be to get Russia out of Crimea as well as what they've held since this mess all started.
Crimea wants to be part of Russia. Why not let them?
Russia trucked in 100,000 Russians and either relocated the Ukranians into Russia or they fled into their own country. That is like saying Canada invaded North Dakota and the Americans fled the war or those captured were moved to Ottawa and replaced with Canadians so now it should stay Canadian since they "voted" to be Canadian
I'm not sure I know what you're referring to regarding 100k Russians trucked in. When was this?
Crimea is and has been mostly Russians for a long time.

Sorry that is the current Oblasts I was thinking of, however the US and EU denounced the votes as shams. Does this seem like a far and open vote?
There is a puppet government in Crimea that seized power at the point of a gun and is run by a party that won 4% of the vote at the last election. The streets are filled with menacing militia given arms but no training, supported by a variety of lethal-looking paramilitary groups and thousands of Russian soldiers who can be seen even on rooftops. Meanwhile events are dictated quite blatantly by Moscow; visitors to the Crimean prime minister's office say even his private secretary and press aide are from Russia, along with other advisers telling him what to do.
Also, it doesn't sound like the Tartars want to be Russian.
Since its invasion and occupation of Crimea, Russia has held several rounds of sham elections in Crimea, in an attempt to undermine Ukraine’s sovereignty and violate Ukraine’s territorial integrity. The Russian occupation authorities staging these illegitimate elections deliberately engage in frequent and severe abuses, specifically targeting the Crimean Tatar community and others opposed to Russia’s occupation.
Pete! Your debate bro vs my debate bro has finally come! Let's go!
I kind of abandoned Dave about 1 1/2 years ago but will check this episode out.
Argues the Russian position far better than the Kremlin could dream of.
Very thorough critique of US foreign policy. I think he let on that he doesn't support Israeli zionism but they only touched on the situation there.

I've seen him speak in Russia, Ukraine, NATO etc... I'm in line with him on that subject. Also know he's caught a lot of shit (he's Jewish as well) on his Palestinian support. But him being against the US/Israel relationship is nothing new.
