It's a good point. Fascism really truly takes hold when the economic situation causes humans to experience almost instinctive fear and a need to secure future resources by any means necessary and fascists definitely take advantage of that.

I can think of no better set of circumstances to get dunked on by the right. Democrats are defeated, out of power, and no longer have public support.
