It was one thing back in 2016 to take a chance on a famous billionaire to shake up the Washington establishment, but what trump has done since winning that election is political and economic destabilization.

People hate what Dusty Rhodes referred to as "hard times, daddy". And that is why both men get low marks from voters. But on the issue of political and economic stabilization, Biden is the clear answer. Trump represents chaos, and I think the american people have had enough chaos over the last 40 years.

2028 campaign will start right after the inauguration about three weeks before we win another Lombardi. That's going to be one hell of a campaign.
I'm not certain continuing to smash the Ctrl+P button to print money out of thin air does not exactly scream; strong and stable economy. Not to mention the insane amount of ESG regulations he's pushing.

The bigger question; is this the worst ticket in the history of this country? I feel it is definitely worse than Hilldog / Trump.

It's going really hard for the right to capitalize on inflation even though everyone feels it.

The first thing they have to do is convince everyone that Joe Biden did it by just being president. When that doesn't work, they have to go and blame it on government spending and the convoluted money manipulation bullshit they picked up from libertarians.

When that esoteric bullshit manages to land the other half of the time, the solution that gets offered is to cut government services to lower the deficit and thus the debt.

Joe Biden already cut the deficit compared to trump who expanded it with his billionaire tax cuts.

Republicans have to have a policy proposal to go with that criticism or the criticism is going to fall flat. They don't have a solution for inflation except interface with markets which is supposedly something that government is not supposed to do according to them.

I always laugh when conservatives try to say they're better with money and cry about the deficit. Then I pull out this article:

https://www.self.inc/info/us-debt-by-president/

Going back to Gerald Ford:

President Year Debt At Start ($) Debt When Leaving Office ($) Debt Change Percentage Total Debt Change ($)
Joe Biden 2021-present $28,428,918,570,048.60 $33,167,334,044,723.10 16.67% $4,738,415,474,674.50
Donald J. Trump 2017-2021 $20,244,900,016,053.50 $28,428,918,570,048.60 40.43% $8,184,018,553,995.10
Barack Obama 2009–2017 $11,909,829,003,511.70 $20,244,900,016,053.50 69.98% $8,335,071,012,541.80
George W. Bush 2001–2009 $5,807,463,412,200.06 $11,909,829,003,511.70 105.08% $6,102,365,591,311.64
William J. Clinton 1993–2001 $4,411,488,883,139.38 $$5,807,463,412,200.06 31.64% $1,395,974,529,060.68
George H. W. Bush 1989–1993 $2,857,430,960,187.32 $4,411,488,883,139.38 54.39% $1,554,057,922,952.06
Ronald Reagan 1981–1989 $997,855,000,000.00 $2,857,430,960,187.32 186.36% $1,859,575,960,187.32
Jimmy Carter 1977–1981 $698,840,000,000.00 $997,855,000,000.00 42.79% $299,015,000,000.00
Gerald Ford 1974–1977 $475,059,815,731.55 $698,840,000,000.00 47.11% $223,780,184,268.45

No one spends money quite like Republican Presidents.

Just because I am more right than the two of you does not mean I am a Republican or support the GOP. I too laugh when the GOP claims to be the party of smaller government. It is a ridiculous trope.

I also think it is insane to claim Joey reduced the deficit. Yes, it has gone down a ~$1 Trillion from 2021 - 2023 but much of that has to do with the reduction of the out of control spending during the Covid Regime years.

That's how you reduce the deficit, bro.

I think you meant the debt.

The reduction of out of control covid spending has not reduced the deficit a trillion from 2021?

Reducing spending lowers the deficit. So does raising taxes.

You lost me.

No president since Bill Clinton has actually reduced the deficit. My point was that Republicans routinely increase it more than Dems do, typically on dumber and less effective shit, while simultaneously crying out that they're the party of fiscal responsibility.

A lot has happened to me in the last 14-15 months, not much of it good. So, I've made a real effort towards trying to be less abrasive, engage in a more honest, civil dialogue, no booze in like 450 days... like a real mid-life inventory type deal. And yes, I expect to be mercilessly flamed for admitting this.

Yet, I feel like you are prodding Banner for the Hulk to return and we all know it won't take much.

I am not giving credit to Joey (nor would I for Trump) for the end of the Covid Regime and subsequent spending. The flu ran it's course for a few years, ppl got beyond sick of the tyrannically policies and decided to leave their homes and go back to work. Biden was simply the imbecile in change when the plebs finally had enough and natural immunity reached the critical mass necessary.

Pete, I am glad you're here because it gives me someone else to talk to online. I'm also glad that you're getting healthy even though you probably still have the Nick Nolte mugshot hair.

If I want to dunk on somebody I don't respect for a bad political take, It's a dumb fuck's life(c) is a mere click away.

I'm just telling you the way I see things, Offering up the liberal tripe I actually read and watch, and generally fuck around until the season gets going and we have more shit to talk about.

I haven't quit drinking yet, but....

Thank you, Comrade. I've actually missed you, Outtie & deltypoo. All of us have different beliefs and feel we are somewhat educated on politics / econ. Unlike most of the Echo Chambers, definitely a good mix of opinions from such a small community.

Meh, did it to myself so couldn't blame anyone else if I wanted. Treat your body like an amusement park for damn near a quarter of a century, the bill man ain't joking around when it's time to collect!

No more long hair but got the beard going and pretty much all gray. Look out, Ladies!

Hope you and the family are well and you continue to support Matt Gaetz. Know he's your boy!
