Eggs were 52 cents a piece this weekend.

How the fuck do an egg cost 52 cents? The chicken did all the work and I know SHE didn't get paid.

I must be an Out of It as I never got the egg argument when Biden was in office, nor now.

I buy 24 range free type deals for about $10 bucks. What is a reasonable price? $4-$5 for a dozen is too much?

Not trolling as I've only purchased groceries for 1 person the majority of my adult life.

Although never get out of a supermarket for less than $100 the last few years.

Food prices are up 25% since 2019 and are a big part of the CPI. Obviously a big part of Joe's inflation and abysmal approval numbers.

But we have ourselves a new president now and he's going to see who's getting that 52 cents and see if they'll take less in exchange for the US drilling for more oil.

I'm picking up your sarcasm. Yes, I've noticed overall grocery prices are way up. Like I said; I'm one guy and I don't get out of the supermarket for less than $100. And I haven't purchased beer or booze in 2 years.
Lots of steak though so that adds to my personal expense. And Publix seems like the most expensive store around.

Beef prices are ridiculous. But they've been ridiculous for years.

My broke ass (making almost 60k) subsists mostly on rice, ramen, chicken thighs, and vegetables I grow. I also raise my own eggs.

I've been checking out local farms for both eggs & beef. Also kicking around the idea of building a Chicken Coop. But have to do a lot more research.

I have ducks. They're so much lower maintenance than chickens. I have a coop for them if the weather gets bad but they mostly just sleep outside wherever. The only downside is that they don't nest like chickens do where they nest in boxes. Ducks will find the most ridiculously illogical and hidden places to nest and lay their eggs so I'm constantly hunting through my brush and bushes. I have also ended up with more ducks than I started with due to this.

Duck eggs are slightly higher in calories and cholesterol but they have more nutritious value than a chicken egg and depending on the breed of duck the eggs could be up to 3x the size of a chicken egg.

What I really want are a pair of geese, great guard animals and I'd pay good money to watch my pit-mixes get humbled by some seriously pissed off waterfowl.
