Bottom post of the previous page:

I think we've largely transcended the bad faith bickering of the echo chamber here. Pete's just outnumbered.

What I think is interesting is how confident we all seem to be.

I've gone Pedro one or two times but overall, we've had good discussions. We all respect one another (by interwebs standards) & all too involved in this crap. I appreciate it.

Going to listen to Outtie for once & table this shit for the night.

Me thinks we may have something to talk about tomorrow!

If more people were open to having a discussion like we all do here, I think the jabs are just in our nature and nothing mean-spirited, the country would be in a better place. We may rarely agree or get the other to change their mind but it helps us understand how each other think and feel and understanding is the key to peaceful co-existence.

!00% agreed. And of course guys are going to break balls. My little Comrade knows I would rescue him from the Gulag if needed.... make him wait a little bit just for giggles though.

Posted many times - We do not agree on much but I try and read everything you two post or find an article on something you mentioned. I have no issue admitting that I am ignorant or was wrong about something. I have had much practice with this.

To a larger point; the corporate media makes it seem like we are at one another's throat in terms if race relations.
I work with a extremely diverse group of people. The campus is like close to 5 acres or something so a lot of people from all over the world, Charlotte is a fairly progressive city so I feel this is a decent overall representation of the States.

No issue with anyone ever. Obviously, this is a professional environment and most are usually on best behavior. But even out in dem streets, I have only had issues with white dudes.

Ugh.. white people.

Yeah the whole race tension thing is such manufactured bullshit. And you're right, it's always white people. Typically white Boomers in my experience but that may be because I live in the entitled Boomer capital of the world.

Obviously (and I know you recognize more than I) there still is work to do on that front. But compared to the rest of the world, the US ain't really that racist. Just gotten so tribal that so few are even willing to talk to someone "different" or give them a chance.

Irony being I get along best with the black woman who lives a few homes down than any of my other honky neighbors. Then again, she is a good looking woman and I am a male degenerate.
