Bottom post of the previous page:

Not really the case. There's an entire cohort of Muslim voters in this country that are absolutely willing to abstain over this.

Edit: And college kids are notoriously hard to turn out.

I submit to you that it's the pro-israeli cohort that'll go vote anyway because Israel is a going concern regardless of the outcome of the election. Palestine not so much. That's why I say that Harris has nothing to lose by getting tougher on Israel in the next 44 days.

I know college kids are notoriously hard to turn out. That's why I said most of them probably won't vote anyway so there's no point in courting them in a way that can hurt you with other large demographics. I'll grant you that there are probably a significant number of American Muslims that may abstain.

I just think the pro-Israel side is just as large, if not larger, a lot more conservative by default, and they wield significantly more political power than the other side of the argument. They're also largely more prevalent in the crucial swing states whereas only Michigan, as far as I know, has a significant Muslim population out of those states. So in terms of the election they're more important.

At the same time I think staying relatively quiet on the issue is smart because it doesn't give any soundbites either way. Muslim voters may associate her with Biden's Israel policy, but she's broken away from his policy on several issues, granted less controversial, to the point where she's already differentiated herself. It could be enough to sway enough of the pro-Palestine side to win.

I'm not going to die on this hill. But this is an unnecessary risk.

... and now Biden is sending troops to try to scare off Iran. Israel is undeniably the aggressor and Joe has us back in the role of the great Satan. So the risk is getting bigger because the policy of "Israel can kill whoever they want for as long as they want" is getting less popular in the United States.

When the first grunt dies, Harris had best meet that moment with something other than "working tirelessly"

"America's Lawyer" getting disbarred today is what this thread title is all about.

He could have quietly retired from public life 20 years ago a multimillionaire with free admission to Yankee Stadium for the rest of his life.

Now he's Broke, Disgraced, Disbarred, and Discarded.

What a dumbass.

I'm going to say it was the convention speech he gave that year that was his peak. If he'd fallen down an elevator shaft a month later, there'd be statues of that goon outside a courthouse.

Just dwelling in my pre-apocalyptic prospects and it occurred to me that Trump is going to abolish the Department of education.

It got me wondering about how research grants were going to get done and it occurred to that he's going to abolish the IRS as well.

That was a whole can of worms of financial fuckery to worry about but I then realized something that had me feeling a little better.

The government recourse for a default or judgement includes the garnishment of any tax refund from uncle Sam.

Since there won't be any more of that and there won't be anybody at the department of education anymore, Trump will have effectively forgiven my student loans.

I also think I just have to watch a bunch of project 2025 training videos to have a shot at a sweet government job I'm totally unqualified for.

White male veteran from Florida district 1? I literally just have to change my voter registration.

I think I'm going to move to Albany, NY by next summer whether I have a job or not. I can sell all of my shit minus my expensive bedroom set, my nice kitchen stuff, and my tech equipment and move up there and live in my grandma's house while my house is up for sale and I look for a job.
