I don't think either of those descriptions are too far off for the vast base. Stereotypes do exist for a reason and not just "-isms".

This morning, I was getting an infusion for 2 hours. July 5th, I spend 13 hours in an ER. July 19th I was told to go back to the ER.
I have a procedure scheduled next Tuesday and scans (sonogram, CT, MRI) to be done every 3 months for the rest of my life.

TLDR: I am no longer physically stronger than anyone. And if it weren't for what it would do to my folks, I would take care of things myself.
And what I've come to realize, is ppl in my situation are the ones to be scared of and no one talks about them.

The latter, mostly. I believe (possibly naively) that the majority of "extremists" on both sides are doing some odd Edge Lord - Shit Posting Cosplay on most of the major platforms. After what the State did to those "violent insurrectionists"; the majority who just walked through the nation's capitol?

If they have even a semblance of self-awareness; no one is going to try that shit again no matter how obvious an election is rigged.


And those serious people, will just continue to be as self sufficient as possible in rural areas. That's one great thing about this country; the lower 48 (and Alaska) are massive in terms of mileage / acreage. Those smart enough to do this are also smart enough not to engage in actual combat.

But believe or at least hope that there is always a simmer with them. Just need to be pushed a little further.
