No, it's a thing. When you do all this reading about fascism and white supremacy the gears start turning.PetePierson wrote: ↑Wed Jul 31, 2024 12:29 pmI don't know about the "abolish the Dept of Education" being a new rallying cry. Seems like a pretty basic Librarian view. I mean, wasn't the US #1 in education up until 1976? When was the DoE created? I am sure it is just a coincidence.emby wrote: ↑Wed Jul 31, 2024 12:21 pm I think all the talk about 2.0 comes from there.
I won't connect all the dots for you because at the end of the day it's really just the root basis for the argument for this or that policy rather than looking at it on its face.
Like how there was no call to abolish the Federal Department of Education until the schools were desegregated. You may take a different approach because you don't want transsexual story time or some form statist indoctrination, but you absolutely have common cause with the neoconfederates who despise the economic, cultural, and academic elite.
Neo-Confederates? I am assuming this is just your term for every white person ever?
When LBJ signed the civil rights act he said "We have lost the south for a generation." for this reason.
