Maybe the problem isn't with income tax in general but with a taxation and economic system that produces individuals who can amass wealth to the point where a couple dozen or so of them have as much wealth as more than half of the country.PetePierson wrote: ↑Tue Jul 23, 2024 8:41 amI've said many times that I know Trump is extremely unpopular and remains so. Any "gains" in the polls or favorability was due to Joey sliding, not Trump being more palpable. The Outsider wrote: ↑Tue Jul 23, 2024 8:16 am
My dad donated 100 bucks to the Harris campaign and he changed his registration to Democrat from Republican this year. So many people underestimate how turned off moderates are by Trump. My dad never voted for a Dem in my life until 2020.
I get that it is exciting for Democrats who were very concerned about Joey. She's a woman of color and that should matter for.,... reasons.
But she too is very very unpopular and anchored to the Dems worst issue, the Border. If my guy (not that I have one) got any sort of bump, I would be celebrating as well; regardless how fleeting the narrative would be.
I just can't get over how people are so fine with this after the weeks and weeks of "Biden is the only one who can beat Trump", It will take an act of God for him to eject from the campaign, Joey is secretly the worlds fittest and most mentally acute human being... the plebs just don't see it and so on. But again, Americans are largely fucking retarded. Yet another reason I can't wait to watch it all burn.
But in happier news, I just read an article that states 76% of all income tax goes towards the debt / interest (that doesn't matter according to everyone else here). So I am in a swell mood!
Jesus Iran and N. Korea... hurry up with Nukes that work, already!
We are a long way from:emby wrote: ↑Tue Jul 23, 2024 10:13 am At this point I think the best thing for Trump to do is stay on message about inflation, the border, and all the other shit he's on. Keep calling her unqualified and not able to make the big decisions. Compare her to those weak female UK prime ministers. Try not to fuck up and say racist shit.
There is definitely a tax code problem. But the government is also completely irresponsible with funds bc it is monopoly money to them and no accountability. Shit the Pentagon just admitted to send an additional $6 BILLION to Ukraine because of an accounting error. You think anyone is going to get fired or they will deduct that from the next bullshit package and aid they send that little coked up troll? Nope. The Outsider wrote: ↑Tue Jul 23, 2024 11:27 am Maybe the problem isn't with income tax in general but with a taxation and economic system that produces individuals who can amass wealth to the point where a couple dozen or so of them have as much wealth as more than half of the country.
Personally, I think we can have nice things and a balanced budget, we just need to be willing to tax the wealthiest of us to the same extent that we did when the US took over the world stage, that is 90% more or less.
In hindsight, a lack of decisiveness by Biden could have saved thousands of lives and billions of dollars.PetePierson wrote: ↑Tue Jul 23, 2024 12:32 pmThere is definitely a tax code problem. And this was wasted money on some fucking country no one heard of 3 years ago.... Does nothing for Americans.
I can sincerely understand how a man turns to violence. It is so unbelievably infuriating.
Was Ukraine sent an additional 6 billion dollary-doos or was it material aid valued at 6 billion. I think that's an important distinction to make and I also think we probably don't have an answer to that because the Pentagon likely doesn't and won't clarify.PetePierson wrote: ↑Tue Jul 23, 2024 12:32 pmThere is definitely a tax code problem.
