My friend in the Army isn't "the left" he was simply giving his opinion based on available evidence as someone who is more experience in combat with firearms than a good majority of the country. I was providing his opinion because it's a hell of a lot more informed than mine.

Don't doubt his expertise but I find that opinion/ analysis wild. If it turns out he is correct, I'll glady admit I know nothing.

Of this I was aware. And for the record: Yes I am coming off as very radical right now but I know my American history well and we have never been closer to the destruction of our nation as we are now. Even during the Civil War the southern states weren't attempting a wholesale takeover and control of every citizen in the country. They wanted the right (wrongly) to keep slaves, but otherwise couldn't have given a shit about the more liberal north.

Today we have an organization of fascists pulling off, in real time, a modern day version of the Business Plot. I WILL NOT SUBMIT. I will fight, and I will die if I must to protect not only my right to exist on my terms but I would be doing the same for all of you, regardless of your philosophy and creed. The beautiful thing about the United States of America is that people from wildly different cultures and backgrounds have historically been able to live together functionally working towards the same goal, more or less. Extend that now to the LGBTQ+ and other nontraditional lifestyles that are no less legitimate as any other and I see a political will from a significant portion of our country to outright eliminate people like that or at least make life so difficult for them that they're forced to flee or live in misery.

That is not the America I was raised to know and love. We've had our problems, our government has done fucked up shit, we have a long history of racism (but Europe's is way fucking worse despite what most liberals would have you believe), and we've unjustly interfered with other nations sometimes in catastrophic ways. That doesn't change the fact that we are the most tolerant, cosmopolitan, and peaceful Empire in the history of human kind. If it is going to stay that way there will eventually come a day when even our most basic citizens need to take up arms to defend the great project. I hope this period of time is not that time. However, the Chinese have a negative saying, "May you live in interesting times." as someone born in 1987 the times of my life have been far too interesting.

There's always a teleprompter. Trump is just notorious for ignoring it. Not adding or detracting from that theory at all just adding some clarity.

Also, if I had just been shot in that sort of environment, not so sure I'd be so concerned about my shoes. The audio from the hot mic is wild.
