Terrible conditions this morning. Waiting for the bay side beach to open because the Gulf said no fishing today.

Edit: two catfish and the biggest pufferfish I ever caught. Caught the puffer and one of the cats at the same time.

Hooked the first cat on the other rod and at some point while I got him off and the hook rebaited and cast, I hooked the other two on the same rig.

Been too hot to fish lately and tourists will chase you off the beach by 9am.

I think this weekend is the shot at blue crabs. But with the water so warm, so early they might have run already. We'll see.

Pensacola News Journal from 2019 says grab a net and walk the sand flats in the late afternoon and early evening in the late summer.

The one time I did this it was mid-morning and four of us filled a bucket in 90 minutes.

After the summer we'll look into a crab trap. If I trap them now and it's full of egg bearing females I gotta let em all go. But I'm learning I can catch these little buggers all year.
